IT Department
The IT Department employees 2 full time technicians. The department supports all hospital software applications as well as computer systems and network. The hospital consists of 65 systems, multiple printers and network devices. The department works with all departments in the hospital to ensure real time patient data consistency and availability.
The first quarter of January brought about quite a change for the nursing, emergency, outpatient and operating departments. Working alongside the hospital Health Information Management software vendor, the IT department converted these departments to an Electronic Medical Record.
The IT department supports several wireless devices, which include mobile carts equipped with touch screen pc's, tablet pc's with signature capture and scanning devices.
The IT department is continually working toward newer technology, alternative sources of funding and new technology capabilities.
