Friends;
Thank you for taking the time to look at the information about the Alleghany Memorial Hospital Foundation.
The Foundation’s mission is to raise funds to help our local community hospital, Alleghany Memorial Hospital (AMH). There are two major fundraisers every year -- The Edwin Duncan Sr., Memorial Golf Classic at the Roaring Gap Country Club, and the Foundation’s Annual Campaign. The proceeds from both of these fundraisers are used for AMH equipment purchases.
Alleghany Memorial Hospital Foundation is a 501c3 tax-exempt Charity. A tax-deductible gift can be made by cash, check, credit card, securities, real estate, or insurance. Please contact Patsy Jarrett at 336-372-3281 for more information.
Additionally, your will or living trust can be a wonderful way to make charitable gifts to your local community hospital as part of your long-range estate and financial plans. In addition to filling an important role in providing for your family and others, knowing that a portion of your property will be put to good use after you no longer need it can be very gratifying. Your gift to the hospital through a will or living trust can be simple to arrange. A provision or amendment prepared by your attorney at the time you make or update your will or trust is all that is needed. Gifts made through a will or a living trust are popular because they are easy to set up and may be changed at any time you choose.
Giving through a will and/or a trust
-Give only the remainder of your estate – what that means is what remains after all other bequests of friends and loved ones are satisfied. -Designate a percentage of your estate to be given through your will or living trust. -Leave a specific dollar amount. This gift can be restricted for a special need or purpose, or can be designated for general use. -Provide for a gift of specific property. Real estate, stocks, bonds, and other items of value are examples of properties that can be used for charitable bequests. -Arrange a trust as part of your estate plan to provide income to a loved one, with an eventual charitable gift after that person’s lifetime or another period of time that you choose. -Name one or more charities to receive a contingent bequest in the event other heirs are not there to receive their legacies.

Alleghany Memorial Hospital is a very much needed community asset. Our local community hospital has served the citizens of Alleghany & Grayson counties since 1951. We are the very definition of a rural healthcare facility; yet it is evident in the list of services and physicians, that the hospital has much to offer to the communities we serve. More importantly, it is the personal, gentle approach of the dedicated staff that makes AMH the obvious choice for your healthcare needs.
Please feel free to contact Patsy Jarrett at 336-372-3281 for more information on how you might give to your local community hospital through the Alleghany Memorial Hospital Foundation. If you desire, a list of naming opportunities will be made available.
Thank you for your time and consideration today.
